Acq Programs
For years, Library of Congress Jakarta has successfully acquired Chinese publications from ASEAN countries, especially from Indonesia, East and West Malaysia, and Singapore.
To serve participants better, effective January 2008, we are using Chinese profile for all Chinese titles which we acquire from ASEAN countries.
We will use the profile for the books received based on the language profile. For example: when we acquire Chinese books on history, politics and social conditions, we will send them to: LC and parts no. 02 3A* 3M* 06 07 09 23 25 34 50 without notice at the country of publication. Participant with code 3A will only receive publication on agriculture and 3M will only receive if it contains medical matter.
Except for literature publications, there will be as follows:
1. Profile no. 39, we will send them to LC and parts no. 02 06 07 09 18 25
and 50
2. Profile no. 40, we will send them to LC and parts no. 02 06 07 09 18 25
34 and 50
3. Profile no. 41, we will send them to LC and parts no. 06 07 09 15 23 39 and 50.
Annually, a
list of selected serials titles is circulated.
If you have not subscribed to the serial and wish to subscribe, please kindly let us know. As Chinese overseas study becomes more important we welcome additional participants to our Chinese program. If you have an interest please contact me directly. In addition to this current acquisitions program we are also involved in some preservation programs of Chinese related collections in the ASEAN region.
